As part of the Missionary Cooperation Plan, Fr. Michael Akpoghiran, OP from the Dominican Province of Nigeria will celebrate the weekend Masses on June 27 - 28. Father will speak about the work of the Dominican Priests and Brothers who serve God’s people in Africa where Catholicism is growing more rapidly than in any other part of the world. The second collection will be for the support of their ministries.

Peter's Pence is the annual worldwide collection to support the charitable works of the Holy Father. The Peter's Pence Second Collection at St. Mary Magdalen will be taken on the weekend of June 20-21, 2026. Special Second Collection envelopes are available at all church entrances. Every household in the Archdiocese of New Orleans is invited to enthrone the Sacred Heart of Jesus in their home the weekend of June 13-14. Obtain a simple 8X10" frame for the image and designate a place of honor for it in your home.
