Catechetical Sunday is an opportunity to affirm and acknowledge the staff and volunteers who teach in the religious education programs in our parish. SMM catechists will be acknowledged at the 10:30 AM Mass on Sunday, September 20.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available at St. Mary Magdalen and all churches of the Archdiocese of New Orleans on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 5:00 - 6:30 PM.

Boy Scout Troop 490 is hosting a Blood Drive on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM in Massett Hall Cafeteria. Recently the American Red Cross declared a national blood supply crisis - only the second in its history. The Blood Center is in need of all types of blood. Louisiana Key Academy opened its doors for the 2026-2027 school year on August 3, 2026. The Jefferson Parish site, located in the B Building of the former SMM school campus, is a tuition-free, state school that serves children with dyslexia. In two weeks, we will celebrate Welcome Home Sunday throughout the Archdiocese of New Orleans. This week consider reaching out to the person that the Sacred Heart of Jesus has put on your heart. A simple invitation can make a huge difference! Simply let someone know there is a place for them here and that you would love for them to join you at Mass on August 15 or 16. Who will you invite?

After every Mass the weekend of August 1-2, The Bethlehem Nativity Group will be selling olive wood religious items hand-crafted by Christian families in the Holy Land. These sales provide job opportunities and a source of income so that Christian families can live and work with dignity in their home land amid the ongoing conflict in the Holy Land.

Our SMM Used Book Sale last weekend was a great success! Thanks to all who came by to browse through the school library, buy a few books, and recall happy memories of St. Mary Magdalen School.
