The Sanctuary Lamp that burns in every Catholic Church and signifies the real presence of Christ in the tabernacle signifies that Jesus is the Light of the World who has come to earth to enlighten and to guide us to salvation. The Sanctuary Lamp burns continually day and night all year long except from the night of Holy Thursday until the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday night, commemorating the three days Jesus was buried in the tomb. In St. Mary Magdalen Church, the sanctuary lamp is located on the wall behind and to the right of the tabernacle, near the stained-glass window. Let us consider a request that the SMM sanctuary lamp burn for the intention of someone who needs prayer or in memory of a loved one who has passed away. For one entire week from Sunday through the following Saturday, your intention will be remembered in the burning light of the sanctuary lamp for all in church to see and remember. Requests can be made through the parish office. Suggested donation is $10.00.
